Summary/objective
The position serves as an advisor to management on human resource-related issues, is an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates Human Resources (HR)-related needs, communicates them proactively with leadership, and works collaboratively in developing integrated solutions. The HR Director will work to form partnerships across the agency to deliver aligned value-added services to leadership and staff that reflect the objectives of the agency. The HR Director maintains an effective level of literacy about CCVI s strategic objectives, financial position, culture, and external partners.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities
Participate as a key organizational leader in support of identifying and creating organization-wide policies and strategies via collaborative, data-driven decisions.
Advise leadership on the establishment and implementation of human resources strategies, and on personnel matters as related to compliance with state and federal regulations.
Lead the Board of Directors Human Resources Committee.
Manages the departmental goals, outcomes, and measurements of the CCVI Strategic Plan.

Function as an advisor to leadership to establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support CCVI s vision and strategic priorities.
Work in partnership with leadership regarding organizational and management issues, including HR policy development and implementation, ensuring HR best practices are implemented.
Lead employee relations counseling and handling of personnel matters in partnership with supervisors.
Supports supervisor development through appropriate training, team building, and assessment tools.
Acts as a key resource for managers on all matters related to internal and external recruitment initiatives designed to ensure that CCVI recruits the best candidates for available positions.
Coordinates talent sourcing and recruitment activities throughout the selection process and manages processes to include but not limited to job postings, applicant screening, assessment, and interviewing, advises hiring managers on reference checking, and ensures new hires have requisite credentials, background checks, and sign appropriate CCVI agreements.
Ensure onboarding processes are effectively managed and partner with hiring managers to create and conduct new employee orientation.
Coordinate employee performance appraisal systems including introductory and annual reviews providing assistance and training to managers where necessary.
Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and fiscally responsible for the organization.
Implement and direct the collection, approval, and delivery of employee changes to payroll staff.
Conducts employee surveys and exit interviews and reports findings to assist leadership in addressing employee concerns and identifying and implementing retention strategies.
Executes strong customer service, both internally and externally, with tact and diplomacy.
Maintains compliant recordkeeping practices for the HR function, ensuring employee records are kept current with legal requirements. Responsible for preparing human resources-related correspondence and maintaining appropriate files.
Manage, develop, and oversee the budget of the HR department.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor s degree from an accredited university in the field of human resources management, business management, or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years or relative human resources experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting; degree requirement may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Understanding of and experience with the current employment and labor relations legislation.
Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
Ability to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams.
Sound understanding of human resources management practices in the areas of recruitment, fostering positive workplace culture, employee relations, staffing, and performance management.
Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust.
Proven flexibility and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
Proficiency in candidate tracking software, payroll, and performance management software. Aptitude to build out and manage the HRIS system.
Willingness and desire to work independently, as well as collaboratively, and to take on additional responsibilities.
A positive attitude and a dedicated interest in providing effective customer service to CCVI s staff members and senior leadership.
Preferred Education and Experience
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
