What we need…
The Human Resources Specialist-ADA Coordinator serves as the primary contact to respond to often complex questions from staff and management regarding ADA compliance and accommodation requests. Human Resources Specialist-ADA Coordinator will facilitate and participate in the interactive process and will process claims and determine reasonable accommodation options following written guidelines and procedures pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and/or client requirements; to make timely referrals for appropriate disability and federal/state leave of absence eligibility review; and to ensure the ongoing processing of claims. The Human Resources Specialist-ADA Coordinator will also provide HR and administrative support to the Human Resources Team and serve as a liaison between employees and the HR/Benefits team ensuring there is compliance to policies, guidelines & HR practices
Responsibilities:
What you will do…
Informs claimants of documentation required to process claims, required time frames, and claims status either by phone, written correspondence and/or claims system.
Reviews medical information to determine if the claimant meets the requirements under ADA, state, and/or client requirements for a qualifying health condition.
Makes claim determinations to approve ADA claims or makes a recommendation for denial of claims based on the ADA, state, and/or client requirements. Processes ADA claims ensuring compliance with duration control guidelines, ADA and state regulations, and/or client-specific process provisions.
Engages in the interactive process with employee and management team to determine accommodation options; makes timely claims referrals for appropriate disability or federal/state leave of absence eligibility reviews where applicable.
Conducts initial employee interview per process guidelines.
Utilizes the appropriate clinical and vocational resources in case assessment (i.e. duration guidelines, in-house clinicians, ADA job accommodation network or other related specialist databases, clarification with treating physicians
Refers/escalates cases as appropriate to manager.
Respond to general employee inquiries and employee relations issues
Provide management with guidance on handling employee situations related to ADA leaves and disability accommodations.
Create and/or facilitate various training events for management and associates on ADA process and procedures.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned, to include assisting with various projects at the Corporate Office and providing backup to the all the sub-departments within Human Resources.
Qualifications:
What you need…
Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position
1-3 years of experience with employee relations
Basic knowledge about benefits and leave administration and applicable federal and state laws required, such as HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, and DOL regulations.
Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
Proven success working under minimal supervision
Ability to read, write, and understand English
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ensure completion and thoroughness of designated job tasks
Ability to use Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment

To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Ciox Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
