Performs skilled painting work in preparing a variety of surfaces for painting and in applying paint and other decorative and protective coatings by brush, roller, spray gun/machine or other means; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy: There is one vacancy with the Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division. This position requires heavy lifting and carrying, and involves exposure to vapors. May be required to work overtime, after hours, weekends, and holidays. May work at and climb to heights greater than 30 feet. This position will serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills and duties of this position.
Such experience must have demonstrated the knowledge of practices, tools, materials and equipment used in the painting trade; methods of applying, preparing, mixing, blending, and preserving different painting materials; and methods of preparing surfaces for the application of paint and other similar coatings.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver’s license, as required.
For the current vacancy with the Department of Parks and Recreation, a valid automobile (Type 3) driver’s license is required, prior to appointment.
