Parks, Recreation & Tourism Director
Department: Parks & Recreation
Reports To: Administrator/Council

JOB DESCRIPTION
Develops/directs the goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the department. Trains, supervises, and evaluates work performance of full-time and seasonal personnel; prepares schedules and assignments for recreation personnel. Plans and manages a comprehensive citywide recreation program including athletic leagues, instructional programs, and special events. Oversees repair and maintenance of parks. Coordinates tournaments, recreation programs, facilities, and activities for community. Prepares and manages annual budget for department. Approves purchases of supplies and operating inventory for recreation programs. Promote and market the City of Barnwell for tourism.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Administration is preferred or closely related field and at least three years of professional experience in parks and recreation management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
