General Purpose of the Position: The purpose of this position will be to perform advanced clerical work in the Records Section.
Nature of Work:
The job of Records Clerk is a responsible, professional role, providing primarily clerical functions involving the processing of police records. This duty requires strong interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers and the general public. Clerical duties in office will center on the processing and maintenance of police records and files, but also requires quality customer service and cashier duties at the public window. A professional, compassionate bearing will be required especially while dealing with crime victims.

Other Equipment and Software Requirements: Will be required to gain proficiency in Superion Records Management System (RMS) and Power DMS; master skills associated with the use of a telephone, copy machine, Microsoft Windows and Office. Occasional operation of a Departmental vehicle (non-pursuit rated) for special circumstances
Desirable Training and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience working in a Law Enforcement agency a plus.
Environmental Conditions: Indoors in an office environment. Cashiering experience, preferably in a customer service environment, may occasionally become stressful. Must pass a background check, polygraph and CJIS training and testing.
