DESCRIPTION
The City of Eureka Springs, AR is currently seeking a Building and Code Enforcement Officer to perform a variety of technical duties in support of the City’s local code enforcement program, monitor and enforces a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, building codes, blight, and other matters of public concerns; and also serves as the Electrical,
Mechanical, and Plumbing and Gas Inspector.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position reports to the mayor.
Essential Functions
(slab, rough, and final) to ensure that mechanical fixtures, materials, and installation conform to
State and local codes. Inspects residences for code compliance and unsafe mechanical conditions as requested. Inspects heating, air, and ventilation systems for remodeling projects and additions to buildings to ensure conformance with mechanical codes. Inspects ductwork and connections to ensure that the type and size of the material used conforms to codes and that connections are

properly installed. Issue a correction notice for installation not in conformance with codes.
Reinspects rejected projects for conformance with code. Reviews licenses of persons performing mechanical activities at construction sites to ensure proper licensing; issues stop work orders.
City and State Plumbing Codes. Inspects plumbing and gas systems for remodeling projects and additions to buildings to ensure compliance with all applicable plumbing codes. Inspects residences for code compliance and unsafe plumbing conditions as requested; notifies owners of violations found. Reinspects initially denied projects for compliance with code. Reviews licenses of persons performing plumbing activities at construction sites to ensure proper licensing; issues stop work orders.
