DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Houston Water (HW) is committed to providing clean, reliable and sustainable water services to our approximately 2.2 million residents. We are seeking an energetic, flexible, self-motivated individual that will function as a customer service representative to provide administrative and/or management systems services in various disciplines.
Essential job duties and responsibilities include:
Researches and reviews inquiries by using various work order systems and databases
Eliciting requirements and translating them into functional documentation
Review and analyze documentation for 311 Customer Service Level Agreements
Evaluating workflows, processes, and various operations systems to provide business use cases
Providing support and problem-resolution on day-to-day issues
Collaborating with project team members and analyzing tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
Maintains and monitors various records and reports
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Performs special projects as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or a GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of administrative or customer service-related experience is required.
Associate’s Degree may be substituted for up to two (2) years of experience.
Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to candidates with business and/or customer service experience.
Detail oriented and exceptional organizational, leadership and problem solving skills
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of various asset management systems such as, Infor/IPS, 311, etc.
Experience in environmental, utilities and/or systems is a plus
