Starting Salary Range: $41,944.00 – $49,927.00

Examples Of Work To Be Performed

• Creating a remarkable experience for guests before, during and after every visit.
• Provides welcoming, positive and enthusiastic customer service by actively matching visitor needs quickly and efficiently with appropriate City departments, services and staff.
• Serves as a liaison and resource for external and internal visitors for all City services.
• Answers multiple telephone lines and provides answers to general questions or directs the caller to the appropriate personnel; assists walk-in visitors.
• Provides visitors and citizens with information such as City departmental addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, website information, directions to each location, and other related information.
• Maintains a calendar of events, including meeting schedules and meeting room reservations to ensure proper assistance to all visitors. Ensures conference rooms are prepared for meetings and reset thereafter.
• Establishes, maintains, and reinforces positive and open communication with all employees, visitors and citizens.
• Performs other essential duties as required and/or assigned to support successful operation of the department and programs the department oversees.
• Ensures the reception area is tidy, presentable, and welcoming. Ensure all necessary beverages, stationery and required materials are stocked and ready for use (pens, forms, brochures, etc.).
• Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills And Abilities

• Experience with high call volume and a multi-line phone system.
• Must be able to communicate and conduct oneself in a professional manner by telephone and in person. Ability to respond to inquiries and concerns from the general public with consistent tact and courtesy.
• Intermediate computer skills including, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Products, Google Suite applications.
• Ability to prioritize, track, and manage multiple projects, assignments, and duties. Must be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and confidential matters.
• Ability to establish working relationships with all levels of management, City Officials, co-workers, and the general public.
• Must have a self-starter attitude and be able to meet deadlines while juggling multiple tasks.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance (i.e. business casual attire)

Required Education, Training And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of front desk or administrative work experience.

Desired Training And Experience

• Some college.
• 2+ years of front desk/administrative experience.
• Additional training or experience in a related field.
• Experience in a municipal setting.

The Physical Requirements Of This Position

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
