LICENSING AND REGISTRATION ASSISTANT
Permitting and Inspections Department – Full Time – Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
This is a specialized customer service position responsible for processing new and renewal applications for Business Licenses and the City’s Rental Registration program. The ideal candidate for this position will possess outstanding customer service and communication skills. The work involved requires accuracy, timeliness and very close attention to detail. Excellent filing and record keeping are required. Must be proficient in Google Docs and Sheets, and be able to quickly learn the City’s own programs. Must have knowledge of cash processing procedures, including daily cash transactions. Demonstrate ability to maintain professionalism at all times with customers and other employees. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate will report directly to the Licensing and Housing Coordinator.
Requirements: High School graduate, college experience a plus. Prior training and experience with business licenses desired. Must be able to work with a diverse population, including people who do not speak English. Candidate must possess a valid State of Maine Class C driver’s license and a personal vehicle available for work use. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
CEBA Union – Grade 13 – $802.50/week.
