The Trades Worker – Electrical assists the Electrician in performing a variety of skilled jobs. Work is performed under the supervision of the Electrician with general direction and work assignments coming from the Central Maintenance Administrator. Annual performance goals will be set for the Trades Worker- Electrical.
Hiring Salary Range: $44,483.53 – $53,556.90
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (w/illustrative examples of work)
Assist in the repair or replacement of damaged and/or faulty electrical systems:
•Assist with electrical systems inspections and repairs.
•Assist in the repair of circuit breakers, relays, ground fault interrupters, wiring, switches, and outlets.
•Assist in the repair of equipment such as correcting electrical problems in controls of kitchen and concession equipment.
•Install new heating elements in hot water heaters.
Assist in installing new electrical service and/or equipment:
•Assist with installing circuits and fixtures for power and lighting in a variety of settings.
•Assist with excavation and running of new electrical service as needed.
•Assist with troubleshooting and repair and/or installation of electrical equipment.
Perform miscellaneous work:
•Keep abreast of current standards, practices, and procedures in electrical trade.
•Assist in determining needed resources; maintain tools and supplies needed for repairs and construction.
•Ensure clean, safe, and organized work areas.
•Maintain thorough and accurate records of repairs, preventive maintenance, and servicing through web-based maintenance software.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)
Education: High School diploma supplemented by apprentice-level training.
Physical: Manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in outdoor and maintenance shop settings; will perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions, will lift and move items equal to or greater than 80 pounds, will climb ladders, will use various hand tools, and operate various mechanical equipment.
Experience: One year apprentice level experience; or equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides:
•Knowledge and skill using a variety of tools and power equipment.
•Ability to adapt available tools and equipment to complete repairs.
•Ability to read and understand blueprints and other plans and specifications.
•Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a driver’s license with a safe driving record.
•Possession of or ability to obtain other licenses as required.
•Availability to be on-call in emergency situations.
•Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
