SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing the overall accounting functions for the Office of the Collector of Revenue for the City of St. Louis. Employee will be responsible for performing complex duties including the responsibility of the fiscal management for the Collector of Revenue. Employee will have latitude in developing procedures and methods for the Finance Department. Employee is responsible for and accountable for the work performance of subordinate supervisors, lead workers and other staff.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The person for this position should be knowledgeable of common accounting practices, able to review and approve payments, vouchers and distribution of funds to a number of city agencies. Candidates should have experience with working with auditors, bankers, department heads and IT staff. Employee must have the ability to formulate budget needs, analyze operational reports, programs, policies, procedures, financial reports, distributions, audits, studies, proposed and existing legislation and ordinances in conjunction with the Chief of Staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or experience equivalent. Applicant must meet the requirements of bonding.
