The Director’s Office Services Unit serves and supports staff at all levels of the organization in their efforts to develop and promote Virginia Beach as a first-class, year-round travel destination and acts as stewards of city and departmental resources.
Job duties:
Implement stakeholder engagement plan. This position would attend, highlight, and report out on stakeholder issues in the hospitality community (VB Hotel Association, VB Restaurant Association, Atlantic Avenue Association, Central Business District Association, etc). Create a similar structure to City Manager’s weekly briefing to Department Directors. Assist Department Director with assigning staff work to leadership team and ensuring accountability.
Create, coordinate and implement streamlined committee structure to ensure efficiency among Council appointed and volunteer committees (including, but not limited to, Resort Advisory Commission and Sub-Committees, Beach Events Steering Committee, Advertising Advisory Committee, etc). Currently, this process is spread out through multiple channels. Consolidating oversight will create efficiency and, ultimately, greater accountability.
Assist the Business Intelligence Analyst with implementation of Department Strategic Plan. Coordinate all stakeholder participation, communication, and distribution of information. Work with members of leadership team to execute actionable strategic plan
Create, coordinate, and implement CVB special projects and events including, but not limited to, VB Tourism Summit and Leadership Series, National Tourism Week, Virginia Tourism Corporation Grants and On-Going Projects, US Travel Initiatives, Destinations International, Destination Next.
Work with CVB Business Intelligence Analyst, CVB IT/ City IT to create comprehensive calendar of events using Simpleview CRM, Excel, PowerPoint and other technology tools.
Create, coordinate, and establish efficiencies for Economic and Tourism Portfolio including, but not limited to, joint reporting structures, performance, and data metrics.
Experience performing research, preparing reports & presentations.
