City of Warrenton Hiring for Lifeguard Aquatic Center at Warrenton, MO Full Time

· Provides excellent customer service to all individuals contacted within the course of the position.

· Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.

· Follows all City of Warrenton’s policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.

· Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with the City of Warrenton’s policies, procedures, and the “safe-in-six” model; complete related reports as required.

· Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.

· Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.

· Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others.

· Maintains accurate records as required by the City of Warrenton and/or the state health department code.

· Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.

· Performs sanitary cleaning as needed.

· Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.

· Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and take appropriate action.

· Lock and secure all pool doors when pool is closed.

· Take responsibility to close pool as necessary for weather or fecal incidents.

· Responsible for securing own subs if lifeguard cannot attend scheduled time.

· All other duties as assigned.

· Attends all required meetings as directed by the Aquatics Director.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

· Must be a certified lifeguard

· Must be at least 16 years of age

· Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness

· Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with the City of Warrenton’s standards.
