City Experiences is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for our NYC Ferry operation in Brooklyn.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
Support day to day activities of the Human Resource Office for 400 employees, with a hands-on approach, assist in delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success; as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Stays abreast of legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Utilizes an “open door” policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns in a timely manner
Writes and delivers presentations to department managers, staff or government officials regarding Human Resources policies and practices as necessary.
Determines and advises on appropriate resolution of employee related issues.
Partners with HSSQE to conduct employee accident investigations, as necessary.
Ensures compliance with procedure for accessing, reviewing, and auditing employee files and ensuring compliance
Partners with Director of ISO/Respect & Training when appropriate to deliver required management training classes as per the Training Requirements Matrix to develop supervisors and managers.
Facilitates random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug testing process (in properties where applicable).
Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
Manage FMLA/LOA/PFL/STD/WC and other leaves
Manage employee coaching and counseling action
Visit other Ports as required
Assist with job fairs, with recruiting
Manage terminations packages, including writing termination letters
Work with Regional HR Manager to complete open enrollment
Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Must be able to work in startup mode, and a fast- paced work environment
Must be able to multi-task
Must have great writing skills and be able to write communication to employees explaining regulations
Must have Excel skills
Must have great organizational skills
Must be able to travel to different locations in NYC on short notice as needed
Must be able to communicate both written and verbal, existing, as well as, new policies and procedures
Must have employee investigation knowledge
Must have experience assisting 500 or more employees.
