Job Summary
Set up and operate a 60 inch wide and / or 48 inch wide cut to length line to process various grades of metal to customers length and flatness specifications.

Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Measure completed product to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, flatness tables, gauges, calipers or tape measures.
• Examine completed product for defects as the line is processing the material and sort / reject any defective pieces according to the types of defects seen.
• Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be processed, dimensions and tolerances.
• Adjust leveler (wedge type or hydraulic) to achieve sheets of steel that are within flatness specification and customer tolerances.
• Set up and operate the Cut to Length line as other co-workers load, unload and package the processed sheets.
• Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational and quality data.
• Adjust line speeds according to product specifications.

• Knowledge of measuring devises
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to read and understand work orders.
• Work in a team atmosphere

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in production process (metals industry preferred)
