Collin County Hiring for Deputy District Clerk I – Criminal at McKinney, TX Full Time

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position fo Deputy District Clerk I. This postiion manages case files and records by indexing and filing various cases and civil suits, utilizing general knowledge of state statutes, preparing, disposing, and reporting information to the courts, transferring, appealing and sealing juvenile cases, and locating cases and making certified copies. Related duties include providing clerical support by maintaining files, inputting case data, answering questions, assisting the public, preparing statistical reports, operating and maintaining the microfilm machine, canceling warrants, and receiving and returning subpoenas. May assist in other areas as needed. Work is performed under the direction of the District Clerk.

Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. A level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school is required. Candidates must have sufficient skill to pass a typing test at the rate of 35 words per minute. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator’s Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. No experience required.

Testing Requirements

This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.

• If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again.
• If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test in order for your application to be complete.

Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID.
