This individual must be able to work onsite at our Collins Aerospace locations in Cedar Rapids, IA or Windsor Locks, CT.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of external funding strategy with a focus on USA government funding programs
Analyze opportunity space across assigned customers and develop external pursuits pipeline
Develop and execute marketing plan including customer engagement, demos, and white papers aimed at influencing opportunities in a way that increases Collins Aerospace PWin.
Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements
Analysis the competition landscape, identify relative strengths and threats and propose robust win strategy
Identifying, establishing and managing relationships with key strategic partners
Working closely with the head of business development, technology directors and strategic Business Units technologists and other teams to identify opportunities, develop proposals, and build relationships with prospective funders and partners.
Developing and maintaining a pipeline of funder prospects and prospective partners
Conduct the BD process steps including gates, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews; lead and documents lessons learned
Assume accountability for advancing and maturing opportunities toward high win probability
Reporting on business development activity and areas of potential concern/advantage
Responsible for managing external funding and business development activities in the US for Collins Aerospace Applied Research and Technology
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience. In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder
Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time
Prior external/government funding experience
Prior experience in the Aerospace industry
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in an Aerospace discipline
Prior experience with research organizations
