Description of Work Unit
Colorado State University (CSU) is a tier one Carnegie Research Institution and a recognized leader in infectious disease research. The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology (DMIP) is a large academic and research department in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) at CSU. Currently, MIP has 80+ faculty and 500+ total employees. The DMIP financial support team manages $20-$25M in research activity each year plus $9.4M in appropriated funds, as well as cash funded activities. This position will be located in the Microbiology Building on CSU’s main campus. CSU offers employee benefits including but not limited to the following:
Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide transactional support for MIP’s graduate programs and human resources, working with the Administrative Coordinator for Graduate Programs and the Human Resources Generalist. This position will be focused on HR entries such as administer reappointments, personnel and payroll changes, HRMS/payroll data submission, Talent Management System (TMS) information initiation and monitoring, hiring, reappointments, and position terminations for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, administrative professionals, and faculty. There will also be a focus on programmatic administrative support, such as tuition payments, application assistance, and recurring information gathering for textbooks, syllabi, regalia, etc. Due to the nature of the department’s work, this will be an in-person position located at the Microbiology Building.
