Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Operations, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will support a variety of HR duties in the College of Dental Medicine. Primary responsibilities will include recruitment and onboarding of faculty, administrative and support staff.
The Senior HR Generalist will support the mission, vision, and values upheld by the College of Dental Medicine.
Responsibilities
Serve as point of contact for recruitment, applicant tracking and onboarding for faculty and staff.
Organizes the hiring and onboarding process for staff including Service Corporation, students and postdocs.
Provides in-house orientation to new staff on departmental policies and procedures.
Submit onboarding applications and packets for staff via Template-Base Hire (TBH)
Prepare and submit hires and re-hires using the TBH hiring automation process; ensure timely submissions into system confirming appearance in People@Columbia (PAC).
Partner with International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) to handle visa applications.
Review HR personnel files in GRM and input all new hire documents and compliance completion documents in the files.
Update and monitor transaction workflow tracker via Microsoft Teams
Manage time and attendance tracking and annual reporting of all Officers of Administration and Instruction.
Communicate with assigned manager on progress of projects assigned.
Perform routine data entry.
Assists in special projects as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in training and education, plus three years of related experience in HR or health care setting.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access) and internet resources.
Must be able to communicate clearly to providers and team members in person and over the telephone.
