This position, in the Bureau of Community Health Systems, supports the organization’s mission of providing infrastructure for the implementation of core public health functions in a high quality, effective and responsive manner that will positively impact the health status of Pennsylvanians by fielding all customer calls and providing clerical support to the District Office and the State Health Centers. This position is headquartered in Lebanon County.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will answer calls using BCHS and DOH policies and procedures and knowledge of agency, local government, community, and commonwealth programs to provide information and referral on DOH programs to the general public. Log calls to the Health Database to provide measures on health program activities. Refer calls to other agencies as appropriate. Provide appropriate referrals to community resources to meet the identified needs of the client.
You will also provide clerical support to professional staff who develop, coordinate and provide educational programs to increase community and professional awareness and knowledge of public health issues (e.g., support for health fairs, clinics and disease/animal bite investigations).
Provide clerical support for clinics and assigned clinical services using DOH procedures to ensure a customer-oriented clinic is communicated, run, and documented to program staff as required, and provide clerical coverage to State Health Centers as assigned to ensure adequate clerical coverage.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
