Community Hospice & Palliative Care Hiring for Human Resources Generalist Job at Jacksonville, FL Full Time

The Human Resources Generalist provides internal support and partnership to various business/service lines to deliver required human resources needs. Working closely with HR leadership and others, the Generalist provides operational support, on a professional level, to ensure the effective administration of critical HR functions including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, employee relations and engagement, organizational development, total rewards and workplace safety.

• Provides general support and assistance in support of the organization’s HR programs and initiatives
• Assists in the administration and coordination of employee engagement and retention programs
• Coordinates general education and training opportunities including, but not limited to, preparing training calendars, scheduling attendees, ensuring availability of technology resources and collecting/analyzing attendee feedback.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with state/federal, AHCA, CMS and other regulatory entity requirements regarding HR policies, processes, and personnel records; performs continuous quality/compliance audits on these items.
• Assists in communication and interpretation of HR policies, processes, and procedures
• Assists with and provides new-employee orientation and on-boarding functions to business unit(s)
• Coordinates FMLA and other leave of absence procedures
• Administers workers compensation procedures, including injury reporting, claims management and all record-keeping/reporting requirements
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations as required
• Assists in administration of HRIS systems; maintains HRIS records and compiles routine and ad-hoc reporting
• Provides support for all performance management programs, systems and tools
• Provides recruiting assistance as needed
• Supports and participates in the evaluation, selection, and administration of vendors, contractors, and other agencies that provide supplemental HR services and products
• Prepares employer response to unemployment claims
• Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and management, referring more complex matters to the appropriate management level
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources
• Maintains employee personnel files
• Coordinates special projects; creates project plans, mobilizes necessary resources and drives tasks to completion.
• Performs additional duties as assigned in support of departmental needs

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, healthcare administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience in Human Resources.
• Working knowledge of state/federal employment legislation, AHCA and CMS regulations
• Maintaining compliance with OSHA record-keeping and reporting requirements
• In depth knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act and it’s regulatory parameters
• Knowledge of most state/federal employment regulations and human resources best practice

• SHRM (CP/SCP) or HRCI (PHR/SPHR) certification encouraged

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
• Experience with HRIS and database management; Workday experience preferred
• Careful attention to detail and accuracy combined with a high level of written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to build relationships and credibility with the management team and internal partners.
• Ability to work with confidential materials and employee information and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Strong business acumen and service-oriented philosophy.
