Comprehensive Mental Health Systems, Inc., a nonprofit organization, is recruiting for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The Human Resources Assistant will contribute to CMHS’s on people strategies, organizational development, building culture, and other Human Resources specific or business initiatives.

Requirements:
Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
Maintain personnel files and databases
Currently using Paylocity for payroll and onboarding.
Interpret and explain personnel policies, benefits and procedures to employees or job applicants
Track and update employee trainings and reports
Assist in new hire orientation and onboarding process
Arrange background checks, verify references and professional credentials
Oversee enrollment in all benefit plans
Handle all workers compensation insurance claims
Oversee and track FMLA and unemployment claims
Advertise open positions and screen resumes
Providing trainings and updates to managers and staff on any policy changes and/or HR related topics
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other HR related tasks as required
Qualifications
Human resources: 1 year (Preferred)
Part-time 20 to 25 hrs per week
