Position Summary:
The Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategy and programming and assessing and maintaining The Werth Center. This position will create an entrepreneurship eco-system across the region, and eventually the state, to bring resources and social capital into the Werth Center to benefit students. The Director will help realize The Werth Center’s vision of becoming a state hub of entrepreneurial activity for students and community members- acting as a pipeline for new, potential community college students. The fundamental responsibility of this position is to plan, develop, manage, and coordinate the entrepreneurship and innovation center and activities across the Housatonic Community College campus, as well as create accessibility to the Center for the greater community.
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Under the direction of the CEO, Executive Director of the HCC Foundation, or other administrator, the Director of the Werth Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is responsible for developing and implementing strategy and programming, and assessing and maintaining The Werth Center through effective performance in these essential duties:
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of: Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; Service on assigned committees and task forces; Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in an appropriately related field together with one (1) or more years of related experience that includes up to two (2) years of supervisory experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Starting Salary:
Anticipated Salary; $72,784 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. This position is until 6/30/24, and may become permanent tenure track depending on funding, college needs and student enrollment.
