Urgent Care Medical Receptionist

Job Description

Cornerstone Urgent Center, LLC provides urgent medical care services in a walk-in basis. Our mission is to provide comprehensive high-quality care to all patients as well as create the highest positive experience for our patients and employees. This position requires a courteous, warm, and inviting person because you will be the first point of contact for our patients and their families.

STATUS: Full-Time

Job Summary

• Greet patients and their family members as they arrive at the Center and be sensitive to each patient’s needs and concerns.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; direct calls, take messages and call patients back.
• Complete patients’ registration following Cornerstone Urgent Care policies.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage, collect co-payments.
• Be responsible for maintaining the continuity of patient flow and assure that the patient waiting is properly organized.
• Posting patient payment and reconciling payment at the end of the shift.
• Stay organized, be flexible, pay attention to detail and have good communication skills.
• Knowledge of patients’ rights and medical-legal aspects for release of information (i.e., HIPAA guidelines)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Support and contribute to the mission, vision, and values of Cornerstone Urgent Care.
• Perform other administrative tasks as requested by management such as printing, scanning and faxing, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
• Excellent telephone and basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records.
• Ability to follow infection control policies in all circumstances.
• Knowledge of medical terminologies a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Rochester, NY 14624: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Medical receptionist: 1 year (Required)
• Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
