The purpose of this job is to attend to the animals in the County Shelter. Responsibilities include feeding, cleaning, bedding and general housekeeping. Administer medications when directed.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Requires six (6) months experience in the care and handling of animals in a personal or work capacity; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Physical Demands:
Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.

Extreme noise levels, Animals,
Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.
