JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
The HR Clerk provides administrative support to HR Team members, ensures that records are kept confidential and compliant with federal and local legislation, and coordinates the day-to-day activities and transactions that occur in the HR office. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for applicants, employees, and other visitors to the CPL Pacific office. As such, the HR Clerk will deliver high-quality customer service via all channels of communication and will use their best judgment to determine when to consult with management on problems or other issues. The HR Clerk will also maintain, audit, and monitor company security and access protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors to the CPL Pacific Office
Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges
Assigns and manages employee badge and office key card activations and de-activations
Receives and distributes packages and other receivables to the CPL Pacific Office
Creates, maintains, and audits employee file records to ensure confidentiality and security of all information
Develops a strong and positive reputation as a neutral and approachable HR representative
Communicates and demonstrates support for HR decisions and initiatives
Works in coordination with the HR Shared Services team and OpCo HR teams to ensure that business needs are delivered as per agreed KPIs and service level agreements
Maintains, updates, and audits the HR Information System database to ensure all relevant employee data is entered and accurate
Conducts routine audits on regulatory and compliance items, such as I9s, voluntary self-disclosure forms, company-mandated policies, and other similar items
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Associate degree from an accredited college in business, human resources, accounting, or related field; or one year of experience in an entry-level human resources role.
Licensure/Certification/Professional Association
SHRM or HRCI HR Certification preferred, but not required

Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical activity of this position includes repetitive motions – making substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
The physical requirements of this position involve sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
For visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field of vision, the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibility.
Regular Expected Hours of Work and Travel
Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, due to the nature of this position, it may be required to arrive earlier, stay later, or work on weekends.
