Position Overview:
The Personnel Specialist will be responsible for performing personnel-related duties on a professional level and work closely with HR management in supporting the company and employees. This is a full-time position, reports to the HR Coordinator, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:
Maintain human resource information system that records electronic personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
Prepare paperwork required to establish personnel file and coordinate with Payroll
Keep employee records up-to-date by processing personal action forms and status changes promptly, ensuring proper approvals, and disseminating approved forms
Review benefit enrollment forms to ensure accuracy, contact employees for errors or missing information, and coordinate enrollment with third-party administrators
Handle personnel and benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution
Review and assure compliance with Federal and State regulations as it affects employment and benefits
Prepare, develop, maintain, disperse communication and educational materials regarding personnel including benefits and other related information
Ensure all applicable compliance notices are current and are made available to all employees
Manage all personnel assets by reviewing and coding invoices, managing vendor accounts, updating asset tracking system, and distributing all company personnel assets including alarm codes, cell phones, credit cards and clothing programs
Oversee all company phone and internet provider accounts by reviewing services, updating company tracking system and working with IT to resolve service issues as needed
Review all On the Job Training (OJT) requirements for federal projects and determine training plan requirements
Coordinate and collect all required documentation to submit for OJT reporting
Research state programs that provide financial incentives for training participation and develop internal programs to meet requirements to receive incentives
Provide additional support to the HR Department in all capacities relating to training
Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive
Position Requirements:
Consent to authorization of a pre-employment background check and drug test
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and professionally communicate with employees, executive team, and external parties
Strong communication, problem-solving, analysis, and time management skills
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
Computer skills and MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook Calendars, Publisher, PowerPoint)
Ethical conduct and strict confidentiality in all matters!
Grasp new concepts quickly and have a strong comprehension of assignments
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
Associate degree in benefit or human resource-related field
Two years of experience in benefits administration or Human Resource experience
Similar combination of education and experience
