THE OPPORTUNITY: Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists is a growing healthcare practice based in the greater New Haven community with a strong commitment to providing excellent care and customer service to our patients. The HR Generalist will participate in the daily functions of the Human Resources team (HR), working collaboratively with hiring managers, and Leadership. This position is available due to promotion & growth.

Essential Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Seeks opportunities for additional resources for attracting best talent to our organization- job fairs, employment opportunity webinars, engage with social media platforms.
• Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs, coordinating effort with HR Administrative Assistant.
• Engages fully in the HRIS system, working towards being SME in all key functional areas.
• Serves as a payroll back up to the HRIS Payroll Administrator.
• Performs routing tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to employee relations, assisting the HR Manager or Director as needed, performance and talent management, events surrounding employee recognition, and morale.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• As a back-up HR manager, attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Manages documentation for these interactions.
• Keeps abreast of State and Federal labor law changes and communicates to the HR team for discussion and policy review/change as needed.
• Participates in details of employee-centric functions and programs geared towards positive engagement.

Education/Experience requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least (5) years of Human Resource management experience preferred
• SHRM-CP a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15lbs at a time.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
