The software engineering team lead is a key member of the engineering leadership team, and will lead the day to day technical activities of the software engineering group. The team lead will take responsibility for all aspects of planning, organization and oversight of a small group of software engineers to develop, verify and test innovative flight software applications.
We will relocate the right candidate to Albuquerque, NM!
What will you be doing?
– Avionics software team leader – coordinate 4-8 software engineers
– Take leadership role in formal software requirements definition and implementation
– Ownership of complete software life cycle for multiple products
– High performance embedded ‘C’ software development on Motorola or Intel platforms
What do you need?
– 5+ years experience generating software for avionic embedded systems
– Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering classification – Masters degree is a plus!
– Familiarity with FAA certification process and procedures required
– Solid writing skills with ability to manage requirements, design and test procedures with appropriate traceability required
– Programming language: C
– Familiarity with avionics interface protocols a plus
– Familiarity with DO-178B required, level B or higher desired
– Familiarity with aircraft, aviation, avionics and associated systems highly desired
– Above average skills using office software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, project management and database software
– Strong project management skills
– Effective time management skills required
– Must work well in a high paced, high energy team environment
