The contract web developer’s primary responsibilities are turning the design team’s mockups into code, making changes as requested by the team or client, and communicating technical issues and limitations. The developer also helps to ensure compliance with best UX, web, and mobile practices, and stays up-to-date as technology changes.

Of paramount importance is a demonstrated expertise in QA and UX in your work. All interested applicants will be asked to thoroughly describe their approach to consistently delivering top quality, thoroughly tested deliverables.

The amount of work each week varies and is dependent on client needs. Please provide your average weekly hours available when you apply.

primary responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining the technical aspects of HubSpot (emails, workflows, lead scoring, etc.) platforms on behalf of clients

• Creating responsive websites

• Building reusable and clean code that other developers can build from

• Using GIT or other version-control systems

• Asking questions to fully understand the goal, and proposing solutions

• Creating simple page animations and interactions

• Coding sites with grids: CSS grids, bootstrap, or foundation

requirements

• Thorough understanding of HTML and CSS3

• Ability to code HTML emails

• Understanding of UX and UI practices

• Proficient knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery

• Proficient understanding of using JS or AJAX to update page data

• Fundamental design skills (can crop, resize, and compress images)

• Knowledge of and adherence to SEO best practices

• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility and how to test them

• Experience working with WordPress websites and creating WordPress themes

• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Maps API

• Willingness to learn new skills as needed, independently

preferred

• Knowledge of PHP or MySQL a strong plus

• Knowledge of BigCommerce, Mangento and/or Shopify

Job Type: Contract – up to 40 hours per week

Hours: Mon – Fri

Location: 100% Remote (Agency located in Central Time Zone)

Pay: $40 – 50 per hour depending on experience
