We also deliver shared services related to talent technologies; digital learning and design; and learning, recruiting, and mobility administrative services.
The Analytics & Behavioral Insights team in Global Talent is responsible for:
Providing behavioral science support and insights to Deputy and the Managing Partner of Global Talent in development and execution of the Global Talent strategy as well as the Global Talent priority team leads in their respective areas
Engaging/communicating with stakeholders and coordinating timely delivery of experimental research, analytic studies, and deliverables
Providing advice/counsel for priority data and analytics needs, survey management, data collection/analysis/transfer/storage, and data privacy (i.e., DPAS)
Delivering special projects as required
The role of the Analytics & Behavioral Insights – Behavioral Scientist within Global Talent will work closely with Analytics & Behavioral Insights function leader to advise on how to incorporate behavioral science into Global Talent’s strategy through a scientific approach as well as an ability to identify and communicate data-driven insights to an executive audience. They will lead experimental research in support of Global Talent’s strategic priorities. These projects are developed at the direction of the Global Board, Global Executive, and Executive Talent Council.
This individual will oversee and lead the execution of experiments, the collection of data, and delivery of projects through dedicated project teams, identify insights and global trends, and advise stakeholders on how to interpret their results. This individual will lead a team of resources aligned to Global Talent as well as resources aligned to other organizations across Deloitte – including, Global Financial Integration Group (FIG), Global Technology Services (GTS), and US Strategic Analytics.
Examples of past and current projects include: defining a ‘blind’ experiment to assess the talent review and promotion process; designing the career aspirations survey; facilitating advisory calls with Talent Leaders to generate buy-in for participation in surveys, experiments, and research for Global Talent project teams (e.g., ALL IN: Diversity & Inclusion, Global Learning, Leadership development, Refreshed Talent Experience, Global Performance Experience, etc.); advising on the design of focus groups discussions in support of Global Talent priority areas; managing the development of materials and insights in support of the global Executive and Board and the Executive Talent Council.
The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including leading virtual project teams, collborating across different project teams and with different stakeholder groups, influencing stakeholders to contribute to and adopt project deliverables, and identifying insights and leading practices.
While the primary focus will initially be on leading efforts related to the projects noted above, the role may be responsible for managing Analytics & Behavioral Insights projects over time. As the priorities for Global Talent change, the projects being delivered by this role may shift and change.
Initially, key relationships include member firm/global business talent leaders and deputies/project managers, other Deloitte project teams (e.g., ALL IN: Diversity & Inclusion), as well as colleagues across Global Talent and DTTL People.
Location: This is a virtual, global opportunity however, location must be within parameters of DTTL location strategy. Relocation is not required.
Responsibilities
As part of the Global Talent team:
Drive the application of analytics and behavioral science to influence key strategic decisions across the network
Design, develop, and conduct research experiments from planning, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting results
Develop compelling, logically structured, actionable data driven insights (including storytelling of research/analytics findings) for all audience levels, including Executives
Lead on the governance and execution of advanced analytics and behavioral science in support of global talent priority initiatives as needed, this includes both strategic priorities (sprints) and strategic initiatives driven by the PMO
Collaborate on the development of tools and technology to support the application of behavioral science to inform Global Talent strategy and priority areas
Provide thought leadership related to talent and behavioral science for Global Talent internal stakeholder groups
Advise on survey design principles and delivery best practices
Stay informed on new research and techniques related to people/HR analytics that could be applied to Global Talent priority areas
Lead the preparation of deliverables (e.g., meeting agendas, presentations, summary/notes, etc.) for key project meetings (e.g. ALL IN Community of Practice) or Global Talent meetings (e.g., Executive Talent Council) and leadership communications
Facilitate ongoing relationship with key stakeholders associated with project and priorities
Partner with and collaborate on other priorities across the team as required
Support knowledge sharing across member firms and global businesses
Identify needs of individual team members across a variety of areas (e.g., development, engagement, well-being) and shift attention and support them accordingly
Future responsibilities could shift to other projects. If so, the underlying responsibilities would be similar, yet the topic area would change.
Education: Advanced university degree required. PhD a plus.
Experience: Experience working in a large, multinational organization, preferably in the Consulting or HR/Talent function for a professional services firm. Desired level would be an Experienced Senior Manager (depending on member firm job level structures). Multiple years working at Deloitte, within a member firm or Deloitte Global, would be beneficial experience for this role.
Other:
Strong knowledge of behavioral science, including industrial psychology or behavioral economics from foundational to current thinking
Communicating behavioral science concepts to stakeholders without a technical background to make them easily understood
Assessing actual scenarios by applying behavioral science concepts to identify insights
Designing and deploying experiments to measure the impact of interventions
Familiarity with statistical techniques in an applied setting – preferable in people analytics – including an understanding of data strategy and associated governance programs
Collaborating as a subject matter expert, involving interpretting and understanding key challenges, and advising on data-driven actions to investigate and remediate those challenges
Familiarity with basic talent strategy, processes, concepts, data, technology, and trends (including promotions, hiring, attrition, compensation/total rewards)
Managing projects, team members and stakeholders, including the ability to partner, engage and/or direct individuals across different levels from executives to peers to direct reports
