Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, provides phone consultation and education to consumers and health care professionals regarding human and animal exposures to known & unknown medications, chemicals, and other substances.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Basic computer knowledge/skills.
* Good verbal and oral communication skills- fast and correct typing at 30 WPM, ability to create grammatically correct responses without any spelling errors.
* Ability to comprehend, capture as well as interpret basic customer information.
* Ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances, instill trust in others besides upholding the values of the organization.
* Ability to manage difficult customer situations, to respond promptly to the needs of the customer, solicit feedback to improve service, respond to requests for service/assistance.
* Ability to adapt to change, meet the changing demands of the work environment, any delays or other unexpected demands.
* Ability to make efficient use of resources.
* Good social skills. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail. A sound knowledge of telephone etiquette.
* Ability to comprehend and appropriately use medical terminology
Education
Minimum of two years college education. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. (Experience in medical call center, public health or other medical setting).
Experience
Typically, six months or more experience in medical call center, public health or other medical setting. Call Center experience preferred. Strongly encourage candidates with a CNA, Pharmacy Technician background and/or a Veterinary Technician background
Location
1391 Speer Boulevard. Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety. 50% office/remote hybrid may be made available following 6 months of training.
Shift
Shifts vary and will include evenings and weekends and occasional nights.
