Duties and Responsibilities
Incumbent works under the general supervision of the Associate Director who defines broad goals and objectives. Work is performed independently, according to protocols, policies, accepted practices within established programmatic, departmental, and District Government guidelines. Results of the work are considered technically authoritative and are normally accepted without significant change. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy, appropriateness, efficiency, and conformance to policy and procedures.
The incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of program initiative in accordance with Federal and District strategic plan, monitors activities, periodically reviews the work product for completeness and accuracy, and evaluates performance. They will also develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to meet established mandates timelines for local licensure and federal certification survey programs.
Qualifications and Education
Individuals must possess at least (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to a grade 13 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and had equipped the individuals with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Examples of specialized experience include developing and implementing program initiatives in accordance with Federal and District strategic plans; developing policies and procedures and guidelines to meet timelines; conducting investigations of complaints; supervising activities to improve productivity.
Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree major study in an academic field related to the medical fields, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position is preferred.

Working Conditions/Environment
The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts, which requires safety precautions typical of an office or duties conducted in the field. The office is adequately lighted and ventilated. Incumbent is required to conduct field activities in inclement weather.

Tour of duty: Monday-Friday from 8:15 am through 4:45 pm
Pay Plan/Series/Grade: MS-0340-14
Duration of Appointment: Management Supervisory Service “At-Will” All positions and appointments in the MSS serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and may be terminated at any time with or without cause.

Position Designation: This position has been designated as Security Sensitive.

Residency Requirement: If the position you are applying for is in the Career, Management Supervisory, or Educational Services at an annual salary of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) or more, you must establish residency in the District of Columbia within one hundred and eight (180) days of the effective date of the appointment and continue to maintain residency within the District of Columbia throughout the duration of the appointment.
