THE POSITION
Reporting to the VP of People & Culture, the People & Culture Senior Associate will contribute to the mission and vision of DoSomething.org by playing a key role in the day-to-day execution of DoSomething’s People & Culture strategy. This includes supporting candidates and staff through the employee lifecycle, managing a broad range of people operations responsibilities, and supporting initiatives that contribute to a successful employee experience. This role requires a growth-oriented, passionate professional, who is proactive and resourceful, with an affinity for building inclusive team cultures.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
People Operations (40%)
Manage a broad range of people operations responsibilities designed to ensure the People & Culture department’s work is compliant, efficient, and contributes to a positive candidate and employee experience. This includes:
Providing a seamless and professional candidate experience by managing recruitment administrative responsibilities, including candidate scheduling and communication, updating our internal applicant tracking systems and preparing all interview materials.
Supporting current employees by fielding inbound requests regarding people operations including timekeeping, policies, benefits and bringing relevant issues and questions to resolution.
Coordinate annual employee activities, including facilitating open enrollment, identifying and implementing required annual federal, state, and local employee trainings, and end of year processes.
Ensuring compliance of employee data and files through day-to-day maintenance of HR records and HRIS and periodic review and audit.
Employee Lifecycle (40%)
Support candidates and staff through the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding. This work includes:
Sourcing and engaging talent through various tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter, in order to build qualified and diverse candidate pipelines.
Conducting phone screens for qualified candidates and ensuring notes and next steps are clearly documented and executed.
Coordinate annual internship programs in collaboration with the VP, People & Culture and DoSomething managers.
Managing the day-to-day responsibilities for onboarding and offboarding processes, including communication with new hires, scheduling onboarding sessions, and compiling annual exit data for DoSomething leadership.
Culture & DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) (15%)
Contribute to building a high-performing stable culture of fun, trust, accountability, and transparency where all employees feel welcome, appreciated, and have equal access to opportunity including people from intersectional and marginalized experiences and groups.
Coordinate staff culture initiatives, including seasonal celebrations, birthdays and anniversaries, and appreciation events.
Support the VP, People & Culture in implementing trainings, convenings, and projects that support the ongoing integration of DEIB into organizational practices and culture.
Develop strong relationships with DoSomething employees across the organization and all stakeholder groups to seek input, problem solve and ensure all voices are heard and employee needs are met.
Special Projects (5%)
Partner with the VP of People & Culture and DoSomething leadership on special projects as needed in order to support the needs of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of experience in Talent/HR functions. This experience may range from experience with HRIS systems (e.g. PEOs, BambooHR) and compensation/benefits to recruitment and professional development. Experience supporting DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) initiatives in the workplace preferred.
Experience working independently and within a team environment that required exceptional follow through and follow-up.
Ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve challenges before they become huge issues, navigating complex or constrained situations to find solutions.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including experience interfacing with external facing audiences, and handling sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of judgment and discretion.
Proficiency in cloud based collaboration tools such as GSuite, Slack, and project management tools like Trello or AirTable.

JazzHR maintains secure job board pages. Job boards will default to HTTPS. Additionally, if we were to terminate our contract with JazzHR our candidate data is deleted from JazzHR’s systems in accordance with JazzHR’s Terms of Service.
