Description: The Behavioral Health Team Lead is under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer or designee. The Team Lead has responsibility for planning and directing the Behavioral Health Department at the Health Center, to ensure the achievement of the Health Center’s mission. Additionally, the Team Lead fulfills the role of a LICSW Behavioral Health Provider and has responsibility for direct patient care at the Health Center.
Implicit in the spirit of this job description is an expectation that the Team Lead will commit to highly professional conduct in all formal patient and staff interactions, attend punctually all clinical sessions and meeting obligations, and demonstrate leadership attributes as appropriate to the responsibilities assigned in the Behavioral Health Department.

• Provide diagnostic behavioral health assessments, interventions, education, referrals, and consultations using the diagnostic criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
• Develop a treatment plan for each client in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary care team, including primary care providers, case managers, and other staff.
• Screen and assess at-risk patients for various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, substance use, intimate partner violence, suicide risk, and trauma symptoms at the time of the primary care visit.
• Provides appropriate clinical treatment to each client with sensitivity to cultural diversity and changing needs.
• Undertake case management, advocacy, medication monitoring, emergency services, education, and consultation with other agencies when clinically appropriate.
• Participates in the multi-disciplinary team presenting clinical cases.
• Adheres to all medical record-keeping requirements and policies for assigned caseload.
• Submits all Billing Department paperwork in a timely manner.
• Participates in Quality Improvement program.
• Participates in regularly scheduled supervision sessions with clinical and administrative supervisors.
• Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Attends training as necessary.
• Provides on-call coverage, as required.
• Represents the department in various inter-departmental or inter-agency programs.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements: Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work
Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience in a community health center, substance use disorder, social work, or other clinical settings.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary staff and providers at external agencies.
• Professional positive attitude, vision, and understanding of the integration of behavioral health within the primary care setting.
• Sensitivity to the healthcare needs of underserved and vulnerable populations.
• Must be a team player who welcomes working across disciplines and departments.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required. Can be flexible in approaches.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Certification/Licensure:

• Must hold a License as an Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts.

Software/Hardware:

• Basic computer knowledge. Experience with an electronic medical records system. Experience with Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) is preferred.
