Drew Child Development Corporation (Drew CDC) is a private, nonprofit organization located in South Los Angeles, and is dedicated to the education and well-being of at-risk children in the metropolitan Los Angeles, area. Since 1987, Drew Child Development Corporation has been a staple in communities throughout South Los Angeles, delivering a comprehensive array of services to over 10,300 children and families annually.
Drew CDC has an array of services which include: early intervention programs for infants and toddlers, early education and child care for children, wraparound, mental health services and trauma-informed care services.
Job Summary:
Drew CDC is currently in need of a Facilities and Operations Manager within excellent time management and proven track record of managing multiple facilities. The Facilities and Operations Manager will be responsible for allocating both human and material resources efficiently, communicate with the COO/CFO and coordinate with other departments on time-sensitive projects, including telecommunication, and facilities maintenance to ensure optimal operating results. The successful candidate will oversee Drew CDC’s facilities operations, Telecommunications, and custodian staff, while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Essential Job Duties:
· Manage the construction and maintenance of facilities, grounds, equipment, and telecommunications needs in compliance with government health and safety standards.
· Inspect all facility structures (interior and exterior) to determine the need for repairs and renovations.
· Create project plans, budget, and schedule facilities modification to ensure minimal staff/operations interruption and compliance with government contracts and the Agency’s overall budget.
· Review and analyze proposals, capital projects, and advise senior management on acceptance.
· Supervise all facility and operations staff (custodians, technicians, etc.).
· Manage all requests for external service contracts, at the time of request through completion of the project.
· Handle all facility insurance needs, updates, and claims.
· Serve as safety management coordinator by correcting identified safety issues, maintaining and participating in emergency preparedness, recovery and business continuity coordination.
· Provide staff communications regarding updates, alerts, notifications of facility repairs/maintenance, and telecommunication upgrades, etc.
· Oversee all building maintenance and repairs in compliance with applicable building, health, safety, fire, and environmental codes and regulations
· Act as “on call” staff representative for emergencies, alarms, and uncovered building operating hours (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
· Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities; Establish and enforce maintenance timetables and checklists
· Ensure the safety of the Center from fire, flood, and other hazards and initiates an active campaign on safety measures in the Center
· Conduct daily tours and inspect the facility; Initiate interventions to solve problems and ensure on-going quality improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems
· Participate in the development of policies and procedures that affect the use of supplies and facilities, monitor maintenance inventory tracking, oversee the ordering and storage of supplies
· Oversee trash removal, pest control, and other outside vendors/contracted services
· Development and maintain a Strategic Facility Plan

· Basic computer skills required – Word, Excel, Software applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years related, demonstrated facilities management experience.
· Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a management and administrative role in managing multiple facilities.
· Valid California Noncommercial Driver’s License.
