The HR Generalist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified applicants. This position is responsible for all phases of the recruitment process, talent development, and retention along with the administration of human resource policies, procedures, and programs. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment and onboarding, training and development, retention, and engagement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other HR staff during the hiring process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, start dates, and other onboarding details.
Conducts employee onboarding and new employee orientation program.
Facilitates, obtains and/or develops effective training and development programs.
Maintains training records and compliance reports in the learning management system (LMS).
Assists in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
Maintains job postings through the applicant tracking system (ATS) and job descriptions.
Runs and provides applicant, hiring, turnover, and compliance reports.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department and throughout the organization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
5 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position.
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
Must be proficient in utilizing HR and learning management systems.
Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
Good working knowledge of employment and labor laws.
Aptitude in problem-solving.
Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing deadlines.
Enjoys working independently and accurately with highly detailed information.
Demonstrates discretion and judgment necessary to work with sensitive and confidential data.
Demonstrates the flexibility and professionalism to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a background in customer service.
