The HRBP serves as a valued business partner in optimizing organizational performance by ensuring the highest standards for employee recruitment, selection, orientation and retention; promoting a work place culture recognized as fair, respectful, adult, inclusive and challenging. Serves as the role model and coach in developing HR Business Partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports achievement of business plans, strategies and objectives through proactively sharing organizational effectiveness knowledge and expertise by:

• Developing a deep understanding of the organization’s business, industry, products and processes, staffing requirements and short and long-term objectives.

• Creating and achieving H.R. objectives that fully support the company objectives as well as assisting/facilitating other departments’ functional objectives

• Continuously championing the need to recruit and select only the highest caliber of employee at every level.

• Employing innovative recruitment and assessment processes to ensure all employees are in the right job at the right time.

• Working with leaders to ensure an onboarding process that is welcoming and creates a positive and lasting impression.

• Actively evaluating turnover and developing retention strategies.

• Constantly challenging the status quo – thinking outside traditional HR practices to eliminate any obstacles to every individual’s feeling of value.

• Designing and facilitating meetings so that the desired outcomes are achieved.

• Proactively identifying every opportunity for employee involvement in problem-solving, planning, goal-setting and decision-making.

• Partnering with the training function to develop and deliver services that drive higher business results.

• Strengthens the Human Resource Team to deliver increasingly better service and results through:

• Collaborating with HR Business Partners to streamline processes further enhancing a highly flexible and dynamic work team capable of doing the same with their respective clients.

• Utilizing organizational effectiveness skills to deliver state of the art HR processes.

• Establishing and executing thoughtful personal development plans for each team member.

• Active coaching and feedback and continuously raising the bar for performance.

• Manages human resource-related policies, practices and systems to ensure legal and good business practice compliance without creating unnecessary bureaucracy by:

• Interpreting and coaching the application of all human resources policies and practices so that everyone believes decisions are thoughtful and fair and ensuring the policies and practices support the Dynata culture.

• A strong understanding of the compensation and benefits structure and programs to ensure they are competitive.

• Partnering with the compensation group to review and update compensation structure and programs to ensure they are competitive, easily accessible and clearly understood by everyone.

• Handling any employee relations issues using active listening, data gathering when needed, adult-to-adult communication and win/win facilitation.

• Managing performance feedback and management systems for individual and team performance improvement and training and coaching management on conducting problem-solving counseling meetings.

• Serving as the expert on state, federal (and provincial) laws and industry expectations and communicating these broadly so that everyone feels responsibility for meeting these requirements,

• Maintaining confidentiality and protecting employee privacy in areas where this is required.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Solid experience in Microsoft Excel

• Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships

• Sound business acumen and analytical skill

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Min of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with Employee Relations experience and any other related field (HRIS Administration, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Employee Engagement)

• Strong Employee Relations experience (corrective actions, disciplinary discussions, investigations)

• Previous experience as an HR Business Partner / HR Generalist
