The Director of Employee & Labor Relations has primary responsibility as chief negotiator, interpreter and grievance office for university’s collective bargaining agreements.The position provides strategic planning for negotiations, training & development for supervisors and managers on labor and employee related issues and provides assistance in conflict resolution, performance management, processing grievances, general policy and contract interpretation, conducts investigations and administers CDL testing program as well as overall administration of the office. This is a one person office, reporting to General Counsel.

Required experience/education: Significant experience negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements (in a university setting preferred); strong oral and written communication skills required; Masters degree in a related field; and, demonstrated commitment to diversity and advancing inclusive excellence through strategic and intentional actions.
