Position Summary:
The OPC Operations Generalist assists in the implementation and administration of EW OPC programs, policies, and procedures. This includes the primary responsibility for project management of two (2) key functions within the OPC Department: Onboarding and HRIS. This position is a key and highly visible role within EducationWorks, is operations (process and systems) focused.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
· Project manages full onboarding process for each new hire utilizing HRIS system (Paycom) for efficient tracking and processing. This includes compliance required clearances and documents from Office of Child Development and Early Learning, Office of Children and Families, Philadelphia and Camden, NJ school districts.
o Prepares, distributes, and ensures receipt of signed employees’ offer letters
o Prepares FBI, Criminal, Child Abuse and National Sex Offender Registry applications for new hires
o Communicates with new hire daily to ensure timely completion of all compliance documents such as health assessment, document signatures, etc.
o Ensures that all documents are filed in applicable HRIS system (Paycom) employee file
o Completes I-9 form, verifies I-9 documentation, maintains I-9 files
· Coordinates new hires employment information with applicable EW staff to ensure new hire’s start date, computer equipment/email address (works closely with IT Consulting firm), location, start time, Supervisor, etc.
· Presents/facilitates New Hire Orientation program and ensures the new hire feels welcomed to the organization, communicates important policy and culture information, and introduces employees to their new place of work
· Distributes shirts to new hires
HRIS
· Manages the HRIS system (Paycom) for all EW employees
· Ensures the efficient usage of the HRIS system for Managers, Employees and OPC by maintaining up-to-date information within the different categories of Paycom
· Maintains the accuracy and integrity of HRIS data with accurate and timely data entry for all employees
· Maintains records of personnel-related data in the HRIS database and ensures all employment requirements are met
· Produces reports on general HR activity as requested
General:
· Responsibility for the OPC mailbox (which includes internal and external communications) daily review and redirects/responds to emails/correspondence to appropriate member of the team and/or EW manager in a customer service friendly and timely manner
· Supports accurate Payroll Administration by working with the Director of OPC each payroll processing period to ensure accurate Payroll
· Participates in company audits; assists Compliance Managers as needed
· Ensures EW’s compliance with applicable Employment Law Posters
· Leads the Social Committee to facilitate employee engagement with community participation and social events
· Workers’ Compensation responsibilities include proper postings and communication of claims to insurance company in a timely manner; working with manager regarding proper information required for filing of claim
· Member of Safety Committee
· Collaborates with HR team members to facilitate the development of HR strategies and tactics that support EducationWorks’ priorities, mission, and vision
· Supports department efforts to comply with federal, state, and local HR laws and regulations
· Advances own knowledge and expertise of HR trends, including departmental and organizational best practices; recommends and implements new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve the efficient delivery of services; serves as an internal consultant to effect such changes
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree; HR Management preferred
· HRCI or SHRM professional designation, preferred (i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
· Three (3) years of relevant progressive Human Resources experience which includes competence in a complex and highly regulated environment
· Two years of project management experience which includes an HRIS system (Paycom strongly preferred)
· Previous experience in an urban education setting and cultural humility is expected
· Prior experience with providing onsite and remote HR support to staff and stakeholders
· Broad working knowledge and experience with employment law (PA and NJ)
· Experience working with all levels of staff

· This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. On-site required 2 days a week and as needed for required meetings.
