Elgin Fastener Group Hiring for HR Manager – Manufacturing at Wheeling, IL Full Time

Summary/Objective:

To serve as an HR Manager for our Wheeling, IL manufacturing plant known as Holbrook Manufacturing. In this capacity, you will act as the subject matter expert and lead all HR Manager initiatives, along with training and development, and recruiting and sourcing.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performance management, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training, and development of one or more employees.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and program lead for one or more functional areas supporting the family of plants within Elgin Fastener Group, likely Training and Development or Recruiting.
• Build strategic business partner relationships, lead organizational change initiatives, and facilitate salary administration to ensure compliance and equity
• Develop, facilitate, and implement staffing strategies & plans to ensure the right people are in the right positions along with conducting new hire orientations
• Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, train and develop staff, and maintain important documentation
• Coordinate the performance and job description review process to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization
• Maintain employee files, recruitment files, medical files, I9s, and other information as necessary to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws.
• Maintains personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
• Serve as payroll administration back-up when needed and/or communicate employee changes to processing team (HRIS, Payroll, vendors, etc.)
• Works with outside agencies and regulators to effectively manage unemployment and workers compensation claims
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• 4-year degree in business, human resources, or related field; or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in human resources (manufacturing or other blue-collar industries strongly preferred)
• Experience in other general HR functions such as interviewing, onboarding, payroll, etc.
• Experience in training and development and/or sourcing and recruiting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
