Job Description
Elizabethtown College seeks an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative leader to serve as Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA). The VPFA provides leadership, oversight, and stewardship of the College’s financial resources and wellbeing and serves as Chief Financial Officer. The VPFA is responsible for a broad portfolio including Human Resources, Information Technology Services (ITS), Business/Financial Operations and partners with the Vice President for Enrollment Management on Financial Aid models and long-term strategies. The VPFA is a key member of the President’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and serves as liaison to three Board of Trustees Committees (Finance & Infrastructure; Audit, Risk, & Compliance; and Investment).

Job Duties
The VPFA promotes the short and long-term fiscal health of the College, oversees ethical legal and business practices of the College, and guides sound budget decisions to support the College’s strategic priorities. The Vice President serves as an integral strategic partner to institutional leaders, providing strong and accurate financial guidance, as well as leading long-term financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategy-setting.
Alongside the President and other Vice Presidents, the VPFA will strategize and communicate best use of resources and will identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and new revenue streams. Other responsibilities include:
* Oversight of insurance and risk management;
* Manage the College’s capital investment strategies to promote operating stability, foresight and innovation without undue expense/risk;
* Assess and evaluate the college’s financial performance regarding long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the strategic plan;
* Review and maintain contracts with appropriate external entities to benefit the institution;
* Coordinate the annual audit;
* Provide strategic asset and debt management;
* Responsible for assessment of current policies/procedures related to operations and finance; developing and implementing enhanced policies/procedures in both the finance and general operations realms.
* Safeguard institution’s financial assets.

Required Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in finance-related field, MBA or CPA, or other advanced financial/accounting certification;
* Ten to 12 years of senior financial management experience in higher education, not-for-profit or for-profit organizations;
* Substantive evidence of success in overseeing an entity’s budget planning processes with expertise in the preparation of complex, detailed financial and budgetary analyses;
* Attention to detail in order to provide thorough and accurate information through use of analytics and dashboards that evaluate financial impact of decisions;
* Understanding of best practice budget modeling systems for higher education;
* Aptitude for building and leading effective teams; evidence of building a customer-centric, data-driven team culture and coaching/developing others to maximize their potential;
* Proven commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence;
* Exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work collaboratively across different sectors of the College and external entities;
* Experience as a member of an organization’s senior leadership team;
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work proactively in the creation and management of financial and administrative solutions resulting in organizational growth and success;
* A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Access, Power Point, and Word is strongly preferred;
* Ability to integrate current technology into accounting and budget management processes.
