Based in our Sherman, TX location, you will be responsible for general accounting functions, leading the monthly closing process and supporting the Finance Manager in preparation of Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Forecasts/Budgets for the North America Parts business as well as the Sherman organization..

AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT YOU WILL:

• Preparation of external reporting/financial statements in HFM for the North America Parts business.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Provide input and assist with monthly budgeting and annual forecast
• Coordinate and manage internal Emerson audits, external KPMG audits and manage all Sarbanes-Oxley audit requirements such as internal controls and roll-forward assessments.
• Coordinate complex Accounting/Finance projects and initiatives with other members of the finance team and/or with other departments.
• Assist with training and mentoring Finance employees.
• Maintains Standard Cost System.
• Monthly Variance Analysis
• Profitability Reporting and Analysis
• Supports and reports monthly inventory reconciliation.
• Monitors and controls all inventory inputs/outputs.
• Direct annual cost implosion.
• Inventory Reporting and Analysis.
• Weekly/Monthly Sales Report

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3-6 years accounting experience, at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of financial reporting, general accounting processes, and capital budgeting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Legal authorization to work in the United States- Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Masters Degree, CPA or CMA preferred
