Overview:
The Billing Systems Manager manages the daily operations of all billing systems across the organization, ensuring that all billing procedures and systems are efficient and effective for billing delivery. The Billing Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the billing related compliance requirements of the organization’s numerous state contracts and third-party billing relationships. An important part of this role is to develop strategies and capacity to integrate system updates and future technologies as they become available. The Billing Systems Manager directly oversees billing staff and provides indirect oversight of additional staff who complete billing tasks within the organization. This position s to the Director of Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities:
· Serve as in-house expert on contract compliance and ing as it relates to billing operations.
· Oversee billing staff and systems – both software and workflow – to ensure excellent billing accuracy, timeliness, and full accounts receivable collection.
· Provide direct supervision and ongoing support to billing staff.
· Team with programs to tackle initiatives, both internally driven and externally driven, related to billing as they arise.
· Collaborate with Director of Finance to ensure timely financial ing.
· Create and maintain a system to efficiently gather service data and key metrics.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of bachelor’s level education in a business-related field (i.e. accounting, finance, management, etc.).
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant role, with 3+ years of experience of direct supervision/managing a team.
· Experience with third-party insurance billing and/or state contract billing strongly preferred.
· Excellent computer skills: advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with billing software required; eager to learn new programs, software, and resources.
· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; is excited about working independently to solve problems or challenges and skilled in seeking out resources when necessary.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively relate and speak to colleagues at all levels of the organization, entry-level staff to organization leadership.
· Positive, can-do attitude and comfort working both independently and collaboratively.
· Takes pride in being organized and detail oriented.
