Executive Assistant to the Mayor/Commission Government Job Dept-City Clerk’s Office Full Time

Nature of Work:

Executive Assistant to the Mayor and City Commission is responsible for providing a wide array of 

complex, iverse, and confidential support services to the city’s elected officials, in a highly 

sensitive, demanding, political and rapidly changing environment. The incumbent’s work is 

characterized by involvement with broad City-wide ssues and interactions with other elected 

officials, constituents, representatives of a wide variety of community, civil and business groups, 

City management staff and others on complex and sensitive matters. The Executive ssistant to the 

Mayor and City Commission performs a variety of constituent and administrative staff services or 

the Mayor and City Commission, often involving politically sensitive issues and requiring a high 

degree of

ndependent judgment and sound political acumen.

Minimum Requirements:

•     Bachelor’s Degree in public/Business Administration/Political Science or a closely related 

field

•     Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative/support experience in a public 

agency

•     Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.

•    Ability to type 40 wpm

•    Extensive knowledge of computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and 

Power Point applications.

•     Some knowledge of Microsoft Publisher desirable

•    The City at its discretion may choose to mitigate education requirements with experience
