Introduction
The Tucson Police Department is excited to announce an opportunity to join the team in a “non-permanent” role. Non-permanent positions do not work full-time and are not benefits eligible. The ideal candidate would be someone who has previous sworn law enforcement experience and is looking to work up to 1300 hours a year (an average of 25 hours a week over the course of a year).
This specific recruitment is for Experienced Support Specialists. The Experienced Support Specialist may be assigned to various divisions within the department. Roles will typically include administrative tasks, communicating with city constituents, taking non-emergency police reports, interacting with community members, and other duties as assigned by the division commander.
This is a non-permanent position that will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis. Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours per fiscal year (1 July – 30 June). Non-Permanent appointees do not receive benefits, and their appointment may be terminated at any time without notice or right of appeal.
