Analyzes, classifies and files fingerprint records and databases; searches and compares fingerprint files for identification purposes; prepares abstracts of criminal records; and performs other related duties as required.

There are two (2) vacancies with the Honolulu Police Department, Support Services Bureau/Records & Identification Division. May be required to work weekends, holidays and shift hours in support of a 24-hour operation. This list may be used to fill future vacancies in this department.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of clerical experience, one of which shall have involved fingerprint classification and filing work.
Experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the Henry (or equivalent) and AFIS Systems of fingerprint classification, comparison, and filing; fingerprint classification formulas, symbols and terminology; pertinent Hawaii Revised Statutes and judicial processes; file extension methods; office practices and procedures; and the ability to take, analyze, classify and compare fingerprints; follow oral and written instruction.
