Human Resources Specialist
Williston, VT
General Scope of Responsibilities: Responsible for Human Resource related activities for hourly and salaried associates at the site including pension, benefits, and health and safety support to site-specific and corporate initiatives; as well as supporting and troubleshooting miscellaneous administrative needs. The incumbent will report to the Site Leader at this location and coordinates with the North American VP of Human Resources.
Specific Responsibilities:
Human Resources
· Conducts all areas of full-cycle recruitment (creates job postings, screens candidates, refers qualified candidates to leadership, schedules interviews, coordinates all employment screenings, assess results, and creates job offers).
· Facilitates new hire orientations, trainings and verifies I-9’s.
· Initiates & manages employment processes as documented on the new hire & separation narratives.
· Understands & communicates AstenJohnson’s benefit programs & policies.
· Coordinates benefit processes (enrollments, additions, changes, deletions, short / long term disability, unemployment claims, WC administration, etc.).
· Provides intervention & assistance to associates when employment concerns arise.
· Advises site leadership, Office Business Team on compliance to policies & procedures.
· Advise & assist other departmental managers on interpretation & administration of personnel policies & programs.
· Provides instruction and assistance with Development & Performance Reviews.
· Participates in succession planning for key roles.
· Responsible for coordination of training activities both internally & externally to ensure company policies & procedures and applicable regulatory statutes are complied with, including maintaining training records for associates.
· Maintains general associate information, (personnel records, seniority, vacation, service years, etc.)
· Ensure compliance with legislation & regulatory statutes.
Payroll
· Familiarity with Payroll processes (JD Edwards Enterprise and UKG).
· Maintains records for applicable reimbursement of safety shoes, glasses, health promotions, etc.
Health and Safety
· Participate in investigations of on-the-job injury incidents ensuring accuracy of documents completed by applicable safety representatives & supervisors.
· Participate in the case management of lost time injury incidents ensuring appropriate documents are completed & submitted to appropriate regulatory agencies, etc.
· Ensure any limited duties or reduced work activities for associates are available (if appropriate & applicable), and that applicable regulatory statute compliance is met.
Administration
· Serves as contact person for basic systems, troubleshoot issues & coordinate outside support for more complex needs.
Education/Experience/Certification
· B.S. Degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources or Business Administration or combination of education and experience.
· Minimum of two years of relevant employment in Human Resources.
· PHR or SHRM certification a plus.
· Manufacturing experience a plus.
