WORK SUMMARY
Manages Trust human resources functions, including postings and recruitment for staff openings, screening candidates for interviews, onboarding new staff. Organizes and coordinates staff performance and evaluation reviews. Keeping employee policies and records up to date. Ensures Trust policies conform to current employment law and coordinates the development of new polices with an employment attorney. Provides counseling referrals to staff members as needed. Plans and coordinates annual staff events. Promotes a healthy and productive workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Post and recruit for open positions and new positions. Screens candidates for interviews.
2. Onboard new staff members. Coordinate staff performance and evaluation reviews.
3. Ensure employee manual is up to date and conforms with current employment law. Keeps staff updated on Trust policies and procedures.
4. Provide counseling referrals to staff members as needed.
5. Plans and coordinates annual staff events.
6. Promotes a healthy and productive workplace.
7. As a team member of the Trust, demonstrates positive interpersonal skills that promote respect for all positions, maintains confidentiality, and contributes to the success of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and 7 years prior human resources experience, preferably in a non-profit setting. Must have a mature and balanced temperament and be proficient in communications and computer capability. Able to write reports and evaluations. Easy interpersonal manner.
ENVIRONMENT:
Oak Park and Hyde Park Trust sites are in multi-level work areas not accessible to the mobility impaired. The Rookery site is fully accessible. Position requires frequent and regular computer and phone use as well as occasional travel to off-site locations. Workplace is a smoke- and drug-free environment. Equal opportunity employer.
