We are looking for a well-rounded and technology-agnostic System Administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring our IT infrastructure. This position requires you to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, taking ownership of platform problems and solutions alike.

The self-motivated candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment while multi-tasking and adapting quickly to changes will be most successful.

This is a Full-Time position Monday – Friday with flexible start/end times. Occasional night/weekend work as-needed and on-call availability on holidays for emergencies. Must be able to travel to remote sites overnight and extended trips as needed.

Senior Systems Administrator Benefits & Compensation

$70,000 – $90,000, depending on experience.

Senior Systems Administrator Benefits & Compensation

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) preferred.
• Understanding of clustering and high-availability concepts
• Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator
• In-depth knowledge of GNULinux RedHat, Debian, etc.
• Fluent in Bash, Python 3, Powershell 5.1+, regular expression, and grok
• Experience with Git for version control and experience with automation tools like Ansible.
• Hands on experience with MSSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with containerization technologies like LXC, Docker, Podman, and K8s.
• Familiarity with RAID and SAN management and concepts
• Solid knowledge of common protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, etc.
• MCSE, RHCE, RHCSA, CCNA, CCNP, and/or COMPTIA Net/Linux+ certifications desired.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows server OS’s (Server 2000-2022) and of Windows desktop OS’s (Windows 7 to Windows 11)
• Advanced knowledge of GNU+Linux OS’s (RHEL/CentOS 7+, Debian 10+, Ubuntu 18.04+)
• Experience with FreeNAS, pfSense, and/or other common BSD based distributions
• Managing >60 Windows servers, >140 GNU+Linux and BSD servers, >1500 Windows based end-user devices
• Managing software, and server/network hardware deployments
• Managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX, Microsoft HyperV Server, and KVM+QEMULibvirt.
• A solid understanding of Layer 2 and 3 networking, routing, and VLANs
• Group Policy implementation
• Experience with load balancers and reverse proxies
• Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, and Microsoft IIS management
• On-prem Active Directory, Azure AD, On-prem Exchange 2016+, and Office365 management
• Experience with managed endpoint security solutions like Carbon Black (preferred), Kaspersky, or Sophos
• Veeam Backup & Replication design and management
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back-bone infrastructure issues
• Routing and switching, network design, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Site-to-site IPSec VPN setup and management (Cisco ASA, pfSense, Sophos)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length and complexity
• Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks successfully both independently and as a team
